Caldwell Schools are thrilled to announce the launch of the much-anticipated stadium project.
Starting this Monday, July 22, 2024, additional site work will begin, marking the next step towards the creation of a state-of-the-art athletic facility for our community.
The new stadium will feature a six-lane textured all-weather track and a modern turf field, which is essential for providing year-round use for the majority of our student-athletes, regardless of the sport.
The turf field will withstand various weather conditions, ensuring that all teams have a reliable and safe playing surface throughout the year. Additionally, the stadium will have seating for over 1,000 spectators. This facility will serve as the future venue for track events, football games, and soccer matches, providing our students and community with a premier location for athletic excellence.
The new building on the northern portion of the property will host the covered concession stand, locker rooms, athletic training room, and restrooms for the stadium on the bottom floor, while the top floor will be the home of our wrestling and baseball/softball teams.
This multifunctional facility will ensure that our athletes and fans have access to the best amenities.
This ambitious project is expected to be completed within 10 to 12 weeks, contingent on weather conditions and other unforeseen variables. If the construction proceeds smoothly, we may have the opportunity to host football and soccer games on the new field this fall. In the interim, football games will be held at the fairgrounds, and our soccer team will continue to host events on our home field behind the elementary school.
"We are excited to embark on this significant project that will enhance our athletic programs and provide our community with a top-notch sports facility," said Greg Gifford, Superintendent. "This stadium will not only be a venue for competition but also a place where memories are made, and school spirit thrives."
We are incredibly grateful for the work of House Representative Don Jones and Senator Brian Chavez for including this project in the Capital Budget. Their support has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
Additionally, we greatly appreciate everyone in the community who has donated funds, time, or provided positive thoughts about this project. Your contributions and encouragement are invaluable and deeply appreciated.
We understand the concerns regarding parking. For this fall, we will be working to create shuttle systems from our two campuses and exploring other temporary solutions to accommodate visitors if we are able to host events. Handicapped and elderly parking will be available beside the TAC Building.
Looking ahead, we plan to add parking on the southeast of the property, with access from Fairground Road below the stadium, funded by a future grant.
If you are interested in this project and would like to help, please reach out to Athletic Director Chance Rucker or High School Principal Eli Svercek. If we are fortunate enough to host events this fall, we will continue to look for volunteers to help make this dream a reality.
While we are hopeful to host some events this fall, we want to inform everyone that many projects will continue to be ongoing throughout the fall.
The Tribe Athletic Complex will continue to receive improvements throughout the upcoming school year, ensuring that our facilities remain at the highest standards for our students and community. We look forward to the positive impact this new stadium will have on our students, athletes, and the entire Caldwell community. Thank you for your continued support as we take this exciting step forward.
